Tomorrow is our neighbor's annual cholesterol fest
On the menu:
Deer, antelope, sheep and pheasant chislic (deep fried, plain or breaded)
Mountain Oysters (breaded, deep fried)
Kosher buffalo burgers (grilled)
Crab Rangoon (my specialty--and fried))
Karon's famous potato salad (not fried)
Tempora shrimp (fried)
Walleye chunks (breaded, deep fried)
Okra and zuchinni (breaded, deep fried)
And whatever else people bring
We eat 'til we can eat no more, we drink lots of beer and/or tequila, then we sit around a bonfire and drink some more and listen to the coyotes.
On Sunday we will be forced to go back for lunch and supper to finish off the leftovers and move hay bales. I don't know how the hay thing got started, but it has, over the years, become a painful tradition.
I will then spend Monday laying on couch, recouperating.

BK:
Menu sounds good. Although after two attemps with antelope, I have gone to something much more tender. That would be Goodyear Wranglers, finely sliced [steel belts removed], dipped in batter and fried.
Doing nothing special; I just got home. On Monday, I will mow for a while and then we will start organization of the workshop. Very excitining isn't it.

Best Wishes,,,,,

Saw a some termites in the mulch beds on Friday. It's frigging war!!
No signs of the little fuckers inside the house, and I know how to look. Outside I am using baits (Terminate stakes) and will treat the soil as needed around the house. Today I pulled out mulch from the flower beds around the house, and replaced the mulch with stone. 2000 pounds of stone today alone. Loaded it myself, wheelbarrowed it to the beds, and spread it myself. Damn I'm studly! LOL!
Labor Day= LABOR!!

dsl--Bummer. Hopefully it will be slack day for you because of the holiday.
Z--Antelope roasts are quite tender when slow-cooked with lots of onion and a bit of bacon. Anything else has to be marinated for a couple of days to get rid of the Goodyear effect
Organizing the workshop doesn't sound too bad...my husband wants to clean out the barn (damn...why don't we have a "pouting" icon?)

Methinks you won't be feeling too studly tomorrow, lol. Take it easy on the rock work.

Thankfully I have a job, a good job, that I can go to...besides, if I stay home my slave-driver of a wife will make me work for free...

Any first-hand experience on how they taste? Curious because I may be in a locale that has them in them in the near future, and I have this nasty habit of trying local delicasies. Yeah, I know, bull balls, but how do they taste is what I would like to know from someone that has tried them.

Think of tough liver and you'll be there! Very strange texture, IMHO
